Carmel delivered a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony for our daughter’s wedding in May of this year. Carmel took the time to really get to know my daughter and her fiancée to enable the ceremony to be very personable, funny, witty at times, and overall a very loving, engaging ceremony. We found Carmel to be very professional in her approach to all matters. The ceremony was to be a garden wedding, however due to the weather, the ceremony needed to be relocated at the last minute. Carmel was able to effectively and efficiently alter her arrangements to accommodate the changes without fuss.

We were first introduced to Carmel through a mutual friend and after our first meeting we both knew she was the perfect fit for our Commitment Ceremony. Being in a same-sex relationship we were reluctant, at first, due to fear of scrutiny or being judged. However, Carmel was an attentive, empathetic listener and such a kind, caring, gentle soul. It was very important to us that our celebrant understood how we felt about our same-sex union and what was said during our ceremony and throughout the whole experience. Carmel always made the both of us feel as though our feelings were taken on board which showed throughout our special day. On the 19^th May 2018 I had the good fortune to be married at Noosa at a ceremony arranged and conducted by Marriage Celebrant, Carmel Hunter.

Prior to our wedding I was a little concerned that the ceremony may be a little “low key” or even frivolous, being away from home and without friends and relatives whom we could not expect to travel up to Noosa from Melbourne. Two of our siblings and their wives did in fact come for the occasion without being formally invited and this helped to provide some support for us.

My concern about the ceremony being low key or frivolous was completely wrong.

Carmel Hunter had checked the venue which was suitable for the occasion and arranged a ceremony which was entirely appropriate, creating a pleasing tone of solemnity, joy and love. She had arranged, with the help of her daughter, Tess, an impressive musical atmosphere which complemented the mood of the occasion. The conclusion of the ceremony along with appropriate celebratory drinks extended to a relaxed joyous dinner celebration at a nearby restaurant.

I knew Carmel was a trained vocalist but she surprised us all at the opening of proceedings with a rendition of “Bye my side” from “Godspell” which almost brought a tear to my eyes and certainly set the scene for a memorable ceremony.

Carmel is a teacher who has the organisational ability, confident presence and artistic talents which make her a perfect Marriage Celebrant. I could not recommend her more highly.
